In the heart of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a day in the spring of 2026 was marked by the sudden and tragic death of 14-year-old Elias Hopkins. On the afternoon of Thursday, April 9th, law enforcement and emergency services were called to a residence in the 900 block of East Fifth Street following a report of a weapons violation.
