In the late afternoon of a Tuesday in Washington, D.C., 14-year-old Tyale Coates's life was tragically cut short. On April 14, 2026, at approximately 3:27 p.m., gunfire erupted in the 700 block of Kenilworth Avenue, Northeast, fatally wounding the young male. When police arrived at the scene in the parking lot of a Circle Seven convenience store, they found Tyale and another boy, 12-year-old Mhilo Young, suffering from gunshot wounds.
