In the quiet, residential neighborhood of Fort Davis in Southeast Washington, D.C., the night of January 26, 2019, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. When police responded to reports of gunshots in the 1500 block of Fort Davis Place SE around 10:00 p.m., they discovered a grim scene. Twenty-six-year-old Sean Shuler, a male resident of Capitol Heights, Maryland, was found lying in the street, having been shot multiple times.
