On May 23, 2023, a double homicide occurred on Arkansas 161 near Scott, Arkansas, resulting in the deaths of 19-year-old LaMarion Gilliam and 16-year-old Sucram O'Donald. LaMarion Gilliam was found by state troopers responding to a report of a person lying in the road.
