In a quiet home on Mitchell Street in Sumter, South Carolina, the afternoon of Sunday, April 12, 2026, was shattered by violence that would leave one man dead and another facing a murder charge. Inside the residence, a domestic dispute escalated, resulting in the fatal shooting of 42-year-old Jarmel Benjamin Ellis. When Sumter Police Department officers responded to a call about the shooting at approximately 3:45 p.m., they found Ellis inside the home he lived in, suffering from a gunshot wound. ...
