In the early morning hours of August 16, 2015, the life of 32-year-old Rafael Ramirez Durant, a male resident of Sumter, South Carolina, was tragically cut short. Just after midnight, officers from the Sumter Police Department responded to a call of shots fired on Maxwell Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Durant lying in front of a residence with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
