On February 12, 2023, 14-year-old Jacob Russ tragically lost his life during a shooting at a McDonald's restaurant in Sumter, South Carolina. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. at the establishment on North Lafayette Drive, where an altercation between employees escalated into violence.
