On March 21, 2023, in Sumter, South Carolina, 5-year-old Aayden Holliday-Slacks was tragically killed in a domestic violence incident. His father, 42-year-old Charles Slacks, entered the home of his ex-wife, Aletha Holliday, and fatally shot Aayden, his 6-year-old brother Aason, and their 11-year-old half-sister Ava while they slept. Slacks also killed 38-year-old Command Sergeant Major Carlos Evans, a colleague of Holliday, before taking his own life.
