On the evening of April 10, 2024, 20-year-old Ray'Quan Dontrell Lamont Durant was fatally shot outside the Red Bay Store, a convenience store located on Boulevard Road in Sumter, South Carolina. Responding to reports of gunfire around 9:50 p.m., Sumter Police officers arrived at the scene to find Durant suffering from gunshot wounds in the store's parking lot.
