On May 27, 2024, 32-year-old Tavares "Key" McFadden was fatally shot in a drive-by incident in Sumter, South Carolina. The shooting occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Green Swamp Road and South Guignard Drive. McFadden's vehicle was stopped at a traffic light when a white sedan approached, and occupants fired multiple shots into his car before speeding away. McFadden was pronounced dead at the scene, and his 28-year-old passenger sustained injuries but was expected to recover.
