In the quiet moments of an autumn evening in Sumter, South Carolina, tragedy irrevocably altered the life of a family. On October 30, 2018, Marcus Brown, a 54-year-old man, was simply taking a moment to relax in his vehicle outside of his sister's home. In an instant, the tranquility was shattered by a spray of gunfire from a passing car, and a life was senselessly cut short. Marcus Brown was struck by the gunfire and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
