In the late hours of a Saturday evening, a dispute outside a Sumter, South Carolina bar tragically escalated, claiming the life of 26-year-old Rayquan Kentrell Dean. On April 8, 2023, outside Brewer's Bar and Grill on East Wesmark Boulevard, an ongoing disagreement between Dean and another man turned violent. Shots were fired, and when Sumter Police officers arrived around 11:30 p.m., they found Dean, a resident of Pinewood, deceased at the scene.
