Gregory Donta Middleton, a 30-year-old resident of Sumter, South Carolina, tragically lost his life on September 8, 2019. The incident occurred at the Hop In (Sunoco) convenience store on Broad Street in Sumter. Middleton was pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds sustained during a gang-related shooting. The shooting, which took place around 1:00 a.m., also resulted in the death of Middleton's cousin, Michael Rogers, and injuries to several others.
