On a summer evening in Sumter, South Carolina, 70-year-old Willie McDuffie was lured to his own auto repair shop on Airport Road under the pretense of business. It was July 18, 2022, when a woman named Priscilla Graves allegedly arranged to meet McDuffie to discuss work on her vehicle. However, this meeting was part of a plan to rob the long-time mechanic. At his place of business, McDuffie was robbed of a large sum of money and tragically shot multiple times, dying at the scene.
His body was not discovered until the following morning, July 19, 2022, when a relative found him at the shop just as it was about to open for the day.
The investigation into the homicide led authorities to their first suspect within weeks. On July 27, 2022, the Sumter County Sheriff's Office arrested 30-year-old Priscilla Maria Graves. Initially charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, her charges were upgraded to include murder and criminal conspiracy as more evidence was verified. The investigation continued to unfold, leading to a second arrest on August 22, 2022. Senque Rashaad-Tyrek Robinson was taken into custody and charged with criminal conspiracy for his role in the crime.
The case saw further developments nearly three years later. On April 21, 2025, a third suspect, 27-year-old Dy-Shirr Misiel Morgan of Lake City, was arrested following a traffic stop where officers found an outstanding warrant against him. The warrant, issued on April 9, 2025, charged him with accessory after the fact to murder. Following their arrests, Graves remained in custody, while Robinson was placed under house arrest. Morgan was booked at the Sumter County Sheriff's Office Detention Center and given a $15,000 surety bond. The investigation into the death of Willie McDuffie is noted as ongoing.
