Raekwon Owens, a 28-year-old African American male from Sumter, South Carolina, was tragically shot and killed on January 25, 2025. The incident occurred at the Rodeway Inn on North Washington Street in Sumter County. Authorities responded to the scene around 11:30 p.m., where they discovered Owens deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Another individual was also injured during the shooting, though details regarding their condition have not been fully disclosed.
