The violent events unfolding on the North Side of San Antonio resulted in the death of 45-year-old male William Shinn. San Antonio Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Patricia Drive following reports of a shooting just after 10:00 p.m. on November 30, 2025. Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered Shinn suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the emergency response, he was pronounced dead at the location, and the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office subsequently ruled the manner of death as a homicide.
Witnesses at the scene provided law enforcement with descriptions of the events, indicating that a suspect had fled into a nearby residence immediately following the shooting. In response, the San Antonio Police Department's Street Crimes Unit and SWAT team established a perimeter around the identified home to secure the area and prevent escape. The operation focused on safely apprehending the individual believed to be responsible for the fatal altercation.
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Salim Ben Abidi, was eventually called out of the residence by officers and taken into custody without further incident. Abidi was arrested and charged with murder in connection with Shinn's death. Following the arrest, he was booked into the Bexar County Adult Detention Center, where his bond was set at $350,000 pending further legal proceedings.
