Eric Rodriguez, 41, a man from San Antonio, died after being shot on the night of August 11, 2025, behind an auto body shop off the 700 block of Southwest Military Drive near Pleasanton Road. According to police and the medical examiner, the encounter began as a scuffle involving a 35-year-old security guard and a man in a drainage ditch behind the business; when Eric Rodriguez stepped in, the confrontation escalated and the guard fired a single round into his chest.
