A shop owner is shot and killed
Michael Lazich, aged 39, was shot and killed on February 21, 1988, in San Antonio, Texas. Lazich was closing his convenience store, located at the corner of Mittman and Vine Streets, when the incident occurred. According to reports, three gunshots were heard as Lazich was locking up the store, and he was found fatally shot in the head. Despite an extensive investigation, no suspects or witnesses came forward, and the case remains unsolved. Lazich was later buried at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
The police have treated the case as a cold case, with appeals for information over the years. The circumstances surrounding the shooting indicate it might have been an attempted robbery, but there were no confirmed leads that pointed to a specific motive or suspect. Despite multiple requests for public assistance, the investigation has seen little progress, and it remains an open cold case with authorities hoping for new leads.
