On the afternoon of December 8, 2025, authorities in Brookhaven, Mississippi, responded to a distress call reporting gunfire at a residence located at 528 North Jackson Street. Upon arriving at the scene, first responders and officers from the Brookhaven Police Department discovered a chaotic situation involving three individuals. Inside the home, they found the bodies of 27-year-old male Samuel Seals and 29-year-old female Tiara Jenkins, both of whom had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
In addition to the two deceased individuals, a third person was found at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. This surviving victim was transported to King’s Daughters Medical Center via a private vehicle for treatment and was reported to be recovering from their injuries. The initial response by law enforcement treated the incident as a potential double homicide, prompting an investigation by local detectives and the Lincoln County Coroner’s Office to determine the sequence of events that led to the violence.
Ten days later, on December 18, 2025, Brookhaven Police Chief Dustin Bairfield announced that the investigation had been officially concluded. Following a review of the evidence, authorities ruled the deaths of Seals and Jenkins as a murder-suicide.
