Kemon Funchess, an 18-year-old from Brookhaven, Mississippi, tragically lost his life on the night of July 7, 2021. The incident occurred just after 9:00 PM on Hines Street. According to reports, officers from the Brookhaven Police Department responded to a call of shots fired and found Funchess in the backyard of a home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency medical technicians from King’s Daughters Medical Center, Funchess was pronounced dead at the scene.
