In the summer of 2024, a life was tragically cut short in Brookhaven, Mississippi. William Des'Mond Young, a 23-year-old male, was killed on the evening of Saturday, June 22nd. The fatal incident unfolded around 8:05 p.m. at an apartment complex located at 209 Pennington Street, near the intersection with Furr Avenue. Young sustained multiple gunshot wounds following an altercation.
In the days following the shooting, the Brookhaven Police Department identified a juvenile as the suspect.
