In the early morning hours of Saturday, October 25, 2025, the quiet of a Washington, D.C. neighborhood was broken by violence. Inside an apartment building on the 3200 block of Hiatt Place in Northwest, 27-year-old Jermaine McGee-Holmes, a Black male from Northeast, D.C., was discovered suffering from gunshot wounds. Third District officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene at approximately 1:56 a.m. to find him semi-conscious and barely breathing.
