In the summer of 2024, the life of 35-year-old James Edward Maphis King III was tragically cut short. On the morning of Wednesday, June 12, 2024, police responded to a residence in the 4100 block of Hayes Street, Northeast, in Washington, D.C. Inside, they discovered Mr. King, a male resident of Northeast, D.C., suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
