In the early hours of a Monday morning in the nation's capital, tragedy befell a Hyattsville, Maryland resident. Omar Moore, a 34-year-old Black/African American man, was fatally shot on August 16, 2021. The incident occurred in the 3800 block of South Capitol Street, Southeast, a detail that would become a focal point in the subsequent investigation.
