On January 21, 2022, Marquette White, a 20-year-old resident of Northeast Washington, D.C., was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 8:36 p.m. in the 3800 block of Commodore Joshua Barney Drive, Northeast. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to a report of a shooting and found White suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital by D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services, where he was later pronounced dead.
