Irvin Provitt, 21, male, was shot in the head at a Crotona Park playground in the Bronx on May 30, 2025, just before 1 p.m., and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers responded to East 173rd Street and Crotona Park East around 12:45 p.m., where the broad-daylight gunfire sent children and parkgoers scrambling for safety. Witnesses described a flurry of six or seven shots and a chaotic rush to call for help as Irvin Provitt, 21, male, lay on the ground inside the playground.
