On May 25, 2025, fifteen-year-old Kayden Mohon was shot in Brookhaven, Mississippi, during a burst of Memorial Day weekend violence that sent officers to the Ozark Lane–Crooked Lane area around 6:20 p.m. Responding authorities found one youth fatally wounded and another injured; Lincoln County Coroner Blake Wallace identified the victim as Kayden Mohon.
