On a Wednesday evening in Greenwood, Mississippi, the night of July 9, 2025, turned deadly. Lasine McKinnon, a 48-year-old Black/African American male, was shot and killed. Another man from Greenwood, 41-year-old Demetrius McClain, was also killed in the same incident. The two men were sitting together in a car in the 300 block of West Monroe when shots were fired into the vehicle.
