In the early evening of October 23, 2022, the city of Greenwood, Mississippi, was shattered by a series of violent events that left a lasting scar on the community. Justin Doyle, a 32-year-old Black or African American male, became one of the victims in a wave of gun violence that swept through the city on that Sunday. At approximately 6:40 p.m., officers from the Greenwood Police Department were dispatched to the 500 block of Ridge Street following reports of a fight involving weapons.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Doyle with fatal gunshot wounds.
