On the evening of June 25, 2025, 45-year-old Steven Lee Dennis, a white male from Cambridge, Maryland, was found lying in the roadway near the West Side Bypass and Route 343/Hudson Road with a single gunshot wound to the upper chest. A civilian and an off-duty police officer were already administering CPR when Cambridge Police arrived and continued lifesaving efforts; Dorchester County EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.
