On July 5, 2025, 27-year-old Cruzita Plascencia, a woman from Pittsburg, was fatally shot just after 1 a.m. outside a home on Harbor Drive in Bay Point, an unincorporated community in Contra Costa County. Deputies from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Muir Station responded around 1:02 a.m. to reports of shots fired and found Cruzita Plascencia suffering from gunshot wounds.
