Angelique K. Abercrombie, a 21-year-old resident of Pittsburg, California, tragically lost her life on September 19, 2021. She was one of the victims in a fatal shooting that occurred outside a 7-Eleven store on Century Boulevard in Pittsburg. The incident took place early in the morning, just before 6:30 a.m., when officers responded to reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, they found Angelique and another victim, 23-year-old Courtnee Allen from San Leandro, inside a car parked in front of the convenience store. Both women had sustained gunshot wounds to their upper torsos. While Courtnee Allen was pronounced dead at the scene, Angelique Abercrombie succumbed to her injuries shortly after.
The investigation into the shooting was extensive and involved multiple divisions within the Pittsburg Police Department, including the Investigations Division and the Vice Team. In addition to Crear, two other individuals were implicated in the crime. Destiny Boyd, a 22-year-old from Sacramento, was arrested in Elk Grove and charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit a crime, also with enhancements. She is being held on a $3 million bail. The third suspect, Lonnie Stewart, a 28-year-old from Antioch, remains at large with a $3 million warrant issued for his arrest. The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, and detectives continue to work on uncovering more details about the case.
