Ethan Christensen, an 18-year-old White male from Frederica, Delaware, was found fatally shot on the night of August 6, 2025, after troopers were called for a welfare check to Lorna Drive in the Highpoint Mobile Home Park. Responding units arrived around 10:57 p.m. and discovered three people inside the residence: Ethan; an 81-year-old neighbor, Linda Hyman; and a 53-year-old woman who was also at the home. All three were pronounced dead at the scene from gunshot wounds.
In the days that followed, Delaware State Police publicly identified the two victims as Ethan Christensen and Linda Hyman and named the third deceased person, Staci Marie Christensen, as the suspect in what investigators determined to be a murder-suicide. Authorities said evidence indicated Staci Christensen shot Ethan and Ms. Hyman before dying of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, concluding a domestic incident that took the lives of three members of the same community.
Detectives continued processing the scene and gathering witness information, but with the suspect deceased at the scene, no arrests were made. Police asked anyone with additional information to contact the Homicide Unit as the investigation's administrative work moved forward. Memorial notices posted online later confirmed Ethan's death and hometown, reflecting the broader community's grief over the tragedy.
