Brandon Ryans, a 29-year-old African American man from Wilmington, Delaware, was fatally shot on the evening of July 16, 2015. The incident occurred near Lancaster Avenue and Du Pont Street, just before 8:30 p.m. Wilmington police responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Ryans suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdominal area.
