Marion Cedric Poole, an 18-year-old Black male from Fairfield, was found lying unresponsive with a gunshot wound in an alley in Birmingham just before 5 p.m. on June 16, 2025. Officers had been dispatched to the 4000 block of Avenue H in the Ensley area after residents reported gunfire; early police communications also referenced Terrace G, which runs parallel to Avenue H. Birmingham Fire and Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene, and the Jefferson County Coroner later publicly identified him.
