Demond Winston, a 41-year-old African American man from Richmond, Virginia, tragically lost his life on February 20, 2025, in what authorities have classified as a targeted shooting. Winston was driving eastbound on Interstate 64 near Mechanicsville Turnpike when he was shot in the abdomen. His vehicle, a 2022 Chevy Tahoe, veered off the road and was later discovered in a ditch by a Henrico County police officer.
