In the quiet early morning of Saturday, June 13, 2026, a fatal encounter shattered the peace in a Richmond, Virginia neighborhood. Joel Reed, a 42-year-old man, was found with a gunshot wound in the 3300 block of Rosewood Avenue. The call reporting the shooting came in at approximately 5:36 a.m. When police arrived at the scene, they found Mr. Reed down and unresponsive.
