On his 20th birthday, Michael Key Brown Jr., a Black male, was fatally shot in Richmond, Virginia. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of March 13, 2011, after Brown had just left Club Aurora located downtown. He was shot at the intersection of Fourth and East Main streets and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. Brown was looking forward to attending the Virginia University of Lynchburg in the fall.
