Alexander Briggs, a 21-year-old resident of Richmond, Virginia, tragically lost his life following a shooting incident on September 30, 2017. The incident occurred in the 2200 block of Afton Avenue in South Richmond. On that Saturday afternoon, officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Briggs lying on the sidewalk with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Another victim, Carrol Speights, 25, was also found at the scene with non-life-threatening injuries.
