On the night of December 26, 2024, tragedy struck in West Philadelphia when 53-year-old Black male, Kemo Vaughn, was fatally shot while sitting in a white Cadillac SUV on the 700 block of Union Street. Vaughn, a resident of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, was accompanied by 28-year-old Tahira Wynn, a Black female from Tobuhanna, Pennsylvania, who was also killed in the attack. The shooting occurred around 10:03 p.m., and both victims were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
