On February 24, 2025, Derrick “Duke” Carter, a 40-year-old African American man, was found fatally shot in the Stapleton neighborhood of Staten Island, New York. The New York Police Department responded to the scene, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death was initiated. As of now, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the case.
