In the late evening hours of September 27, 2016, the life of 20-year-old Jaquinto Taro Delilse Williams was tragically cut short in the front yard of his Summerville, South Carolina home on Orangeburg Road. A Black male, Williams was discovered near a ditch, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds to his neck and chest. First responders attempted to render aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office immediately launched a homicide investigation into
the shooting. Their efforts quickly led to the identification and arrest of two suspects. Natalie Ruth Biering, 17, of Round O, and 21-year-old Bryan Edward Burton of Summerville were taken into custody and subsequently charged with murder. A magistrate denied bond for both individuals, ensuring they remained in custody as the investigation progressed. An autopsy later confirmed that Williams’ death was a direct result of the gunshot wounds he sustained.
As the investigation continued to unfold, authorities identified a third individual believed to be involved in the fatal shooting. An arrest warrant was issued for 21-year-old Denzel Lavar Kelly, also of Summerville, in connection with Williams' murder. Law enforcement officials indicated that further arrests were possible as they continued to piece together the events that led to the young man's death, urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the apprehension of the remaining suspect.
