Before dawn on July 31, 2024, Shamel Anthony Massie was shot on Roxbury Street in the Mariners Harbor section of Staten Island, near the Mariners Harbor Houses. Massie, a 28-year-old Black man, was found after a 911 call brought officers to the block at about 5:07 a.m., where the scene quickly resolved into a double shooting rather than a single victim.
