John 'Jack' Miller, a 75-year-old retired Suffolk County police detective, was shot and killed in his Dix Hills, New York, home on March 19, 2025. The tragic events unfolded just a day after Miller had filed a missing person's report for his 43-year-old son, Christopher Miller.
