In the Brighton Beach neighborhood of Brooklyn, a sense of shock and loss befell the community on the night of April 11, 2025. Elijah Scott, a 45-year-old male resident, was just steps from his home on Brighton 12th Street when his life was abruptly ended. At approximately 9:55 p.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the evening air. Officers from the 60th Precinct swiftly responded to a 911 call and discovered Scott with multiple gunshot wounds.
