On June 18, 2023, 32-year-old Brooklyn resident Rolando Blanco-Duarte was fatally shot following a night out with acquaintances. After spending the evening at a bar near Green-Wood Cemetery, Blanco-Duarte and two companions—27-year-old Luis Marroquin-Cerna and 29-year-old Rodolfo Lopez—left the establishment and proceeded to a building on 41st Street in Borough Park.
