In the late afternoon of April 27, 2025, tragedy struck the streets of Coney Island, Brooklyn, when 18-year-old Javon Johnnie was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Surf Avenue and West 36th Street, just blocks from his home.
