In the early afternoon of New Year's Day 2025, tragedy struck in the 2600 block of Bryant Street in Houma, Louisiana, when 31-year-old Tyson Vincent, a Black male, was fatally shot. The Houma Police Department responded to reports of the shooting at approximately 1:22 p.m. and discovered Vincent inside his white Crown Victoria, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into Vincent's death quickly led authorities to two individuals. Investigators determined that Joseph Paul Williams, 27, and Aja Rittenhouse, 20, approached Vincent while he was seated in his vehicle. For reasons that have not been publicly disclosed, Williams allegedly fired multiple shots at Vincent before both suspects fled the area.
Following the incident, Aja Rittenhouse was apprehended by law enforcement without incident and was subsequently booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex. She is facing a charge of principal to second-degree murder. An arrest warrant has been issued for Joseph Paul Williams, who remains at large, on a charge of second-degree murder. Authorities have requested the public's assistance in locating him and have encouraged anyone with information to contact the Houma Police Department or Crime Stoppers Bayou Region. The motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
