Emmitt Carr Jr., a 19-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on June 26, 2021, in Houma, Louisiana. Emmitt was attending a "splash" party on Isaac Street when gunshots erupted, leading to his fatal injuries. He was struck three times: once in his right temple, once in his right bicep, and once in his calf muscle. The head wound, which ultimately led to his death, was caused by a .223 round, likely fired from an AR-15 rifle.
