In the late hours of a Friday night in Prince George's County, tragedy struck, leaving two men dead and another wounded. On March 28, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police responded to a shooting in the 4000 block of Silver Hill Road in Suitland, Maryland. Upon arrival, they discovered 32-year-old Antonio Magruder of District Heights inside a local business, suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nearby, inside a vehicle, officers found a second victim, 56-year-old Darrell Mason of Suitland, who had also been shot. Mason was rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically succumbed to his injuries a short time later. A third man was also injured in the shooting, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening. The motive for the violent outburst remains under investigation, though preliminary findings suggest the suspect was acquainted with at least one of the victims.
Following an investigation by the Prince George's County Police Department's Homicide Unit, a suspect was identified and apprehended. Thirty-one-year-old Marc Carter of Temple Hills was arrested in connection with the double homicide. He has since been charged with two counts of first and second-degree murder, in addition to several other charges. Carter is currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections and is being held on a no-bond status.
